The story behind Taxi Bil. The company was founded in 1952 by Hans Mellemgaard, Eiler Thorsvig, Hans A. Davidsen, Poul Gaard Hansen and Pauli Gaard Hansen. At first, Taxi Car was located in Niels Finsensgøtu, where there is today a shop with baby and children’s items. In 1960 Taxi Car got a new location at Liðagøtu. Two years later, “Bilstøðin í Vágsbotni” merged – which had both taxi cars and vans together with “BIL”.
